How to reach Chiang Rai:
There are many ways to get into Chiang Rai province in the North Thailand. So here we are showing you the easiest way to get into Chiang Rai at Adinath Yoga Ashram.
By Air Plane
Chiang Rai International Airport (CEI) is located on Phaholyotin Road 8 kilometers from downtown Chiang Rai. Car rental is available on arrival. The airport is served by Bangkok Air, AirAsia and Thai Airways, Thai Lion Air and Nok Air from Bangkok (flight time is about 1 hour and 30 minutes) and SGA Airlines from Chiang Mai.
Free Pickup from Airport: From the Airport we offer Free pick up service for our Teacher Training Students (Please make sure you get this Promotion upon your registration) OR you can take a taxi (approx. 250 THB). It makes no sense to go by bus to town first because the city is in the other direction from the Ashram.
The nearest train station is at Chiang Mai. After that you can take Taxi or Bus
There are two bus stations in Chiang Rai. The old bus station and new bus station –
Old Bus Station is located in the center of town. Buses coming from Chiang Rai province stop here.
Chiang Khong, on the Laos border. Buses leave every hour or so and have the destination clearly marked. The journey takes two and a half hours and costs 70 baht on local bus.
New Bus Station, (7km south of the city, opposite Big C and just off the super highway). Buses from elsewhere in Thailand stop here.
Chiang Mai – There are three types of bus: First Class A/C, Second Class A/C and VIP. A/C (First and Second) – stops one time for 15 Minutes. Takes about 4 hours. Costs 169 baht. Bangkok – There are many types of bus services from Bangkok to Chiang Rai: Just for example First Class A/C, Second Class A/C and VIP. A/C (First and Second) – stops around 2 time for 30 Minutes. Takes about 9 – 11 hours. Costs 400 baht – 1000 baht. operated by Greenbus Services and Other companies. But there are also many private bus companies in Thailand that often offer VIP bus marking fewer stops and generally a bit more comfortable.
They offer better service on board and are sometimes (but far from always) quicker. The bus is the transpiration serving the most destinations in Thailand. You can almost go everywhere in Thailand by bus and it is very Good service.
Chiang Rai is about 809 km far from Bangkok and is easily accessible from Bangkok via highways # 1 / # 32 and from Chiang Mai is around 215 km far so you can take highway # 118. SEE The Google Map for Ashram
There is scheduled boat service between Chiang Rai and Thaton in Chiang Mai province daily.
